Is it possible for toddlers to develop a phobia?

Joie - April 22nd, 2011 2:33 AM

Phobia is an irrational and extreme fear or aversion of something.

Toddlers at their age are already aware of the concept of fear. In fact, fear is one of the traits a child learns early on in life. Young children tend to fear things they don't understand.

I believe toddlers can develop a phobia.

Probably the most common fear in young children is separation anxiety which can turn into a phobia. Some can be mild others severe. However phobias like these can be overcome especially in young children.
