i'll take not of this in the future. my husband are still trying our very best to conceive.

I think basic birth control is still effective. But we all know that with all different controls or medicines; it doesn't work for everybody. Consult the doctor first.

knowing the basics of birth control is important especially if you are planning for proper spacing for your children. With recent innovations there are a lot of birth control pills that a woman can take or youc an also use the natural way, whichever works best for you as a couple.

We follow the natural method or commonly known as the calendar method. I keep track of my monthly period to know my safe and fertile days. For me if it's natural it's always healthy.

I agree with you on "natural being safe", erica. However, the natural method is not very accurate. I guess there are more failed cases with the natural method than the "modern" birth control ways.

is it true that you can determine if you are fertile or not through your temperature and vaginal discharges? if it is, how? ^_^

kelly - February 25th, 2011 9:07 AM

keisha - i think you are referring to the basal body temperature. What i know is that if your temperature is increased then you are most likely fertile... something to that sense.

"if it's natural, it's safe" but when you use the natural method just to prevent pregnancy, you also expose yourself to STD (that is if you have multiple sexual partners) - don't you think it's contradicting?

paula - February 25th, 2011 9:14 AM

brittany - it is intended for "married" couples who practice monogamous sex. you do have a point though, coz not all married couples are that monogamous anymore. Condom versus the calendar method, both can reduce the chance of getting pregnant but only condom can reduce the chance of acquiring STD.
