In theory, working from home is the best of both worlds: You earn a paycheck and still make it to your daughter's preschool parade, care for your under-the-weather son and shuttle your teen from violin lesson to soccer — all without having to ask the boss.

While modern technology has made working from home easier and more employers and clients are open to the idea, in fact, it's not as simple — or as wonderful — as it sounds.

Work at home has both pros and cons. One of the best advantage is not having to be late again. Why, you don't have to commute to work. That's a lot of savings in time and gas.

The hard part is being alone at home. You will definitely miss that interaction with people in the office. No office parties or after-hours hang out with buddies.
