at what age does menopause typically begin? and how many menstrual cycles does one have to miss to consider that menopause has begun?

symptoms typically appear by the age between 40-50.. it's when u experience erratic moods and hot flushes and so on.... much worse than PMS!

My doctor told me that when you have skipped your menstruation for 12 months then that could already indicate menopause.

My mom started during her early 50's. I am not sure what happens during the process though. :D
