thinking of looking at new homes. We have 3 kids b/w ages 10-2. All of them boys. I'm thinking of buying a smaller house to save on maintenance and insurance but I still want to have one room each for the kids. think this is doable?

I like in an apartment in the city and if you want to raise a family here then space is going to be a problem. Not to mention that buying or renting an apartment in the city is really expensive.

I think there are small houses with lots of rooms. You just need a realtor's help.

Lots of people are looking to buy smaller homes. With housing in trouble because of the recession i think this is quite normal. Look for something with enough space and something you can afford at the same time. Remember that those little boys wont be so little in a few years.

Yeah, smaller floor space but a 2-storey house will do. The kid's room are upstairs, while the master bedroom is at ground level. The space on the 2nd floor will be enough for each of the 3 kids.
