Dealing with the life-threatening symptoms of an allergic reaction can be frightening, especially if you're unsure which medicine to reach for in an emergency. Knowing the facts about antihistamines and epinephrine, two common allergy medications, can help you react quickly and confidently the next time your child experiences allergy symptoms.

Hi WandaKegg, knowing about these medicines is a plus. But never be your own doctor for you own child unless you are a certified & licensed practicing professional. You will only end up endangering your kid.

The best course for the mere mention of "life threatening" is to go to a doctor immediately! There is no excuse. Allergies are not something to be taken lightly. A lot of people have died because of allergies.
