Hi! I am bothered with my son's choice of music. He loves listening to those hate songs and those are really loud... it seems to me that his music is also causing him to be aloof. He just stays in his room with his earphones on and God knows how loud his music can get. I'm threatened with this kind of attitude.

Music can be a personal choice. It is how some people like to express themselves. Perhaps your son is telling you something through his choices? Talk to him and you will find out what is bothering him.

I think that your son is just experessing his personal choice. He's making choices and showing signs of independence. If you're really bothered with it then like Rainne said it is better to talk to him about it.

Perhaps he has a problem and this is his way of venting? When I was a teenager I would listen to Metallica and Skidrow because I wanted to tune out my problems and at the same time let my feelings out.
