the school where my kids go to is a parent assisted school. And they are thinking of having uniforms for the students to foster unity and also to help parents cut costs with clothing.

Think uniforms will solve or help the clothing costs issues?

I think they are OK. With uniforms nobody's clothes will look old and tattered and everybody will look the same. It will be hard to distinguish who is rich or poor.

Good luck with that. Unless you are in a private school, making them wear uniforms is like making a pig fly or the bird to bark. Clothing costs are not the main issues. I think it is more like giving them their freedom and identity to express themselves through clothes they wear.
