Sporty Penholder

Every dad can use a new penholder and the great thing about Father’s Day crafts is that you can tailor them to suit your dad. For this craft, decorate the penholder with items from dad’s favorite sport.

For this project you’ll need the following craft supplies:

  • a sturdy container (an old juice can should do)
  • some construction paper
  • glue or tape
  • markers
  • colored pencils, stickers and anything else you’d like to decorate the can with

1. If you haven’t already, wash out your can so that it is nice and clean.

2. Pick out a piece of construction paper and measure to make sure it will fit all the way around the can, covering all of the outside.

3. Now, decorate the construction paper. You can draw a baseball diamond or a football field on it. If you want some Father’s Day golf crafts, then you can draw an entire golf course. Another great idea is to find a picture of dad playing the sport that you can glue on to construction paper. You can also use sport-themed stickers and stamps to decorate with.

4. Once you are done decorating, glue or tape the construction paper onto the outside of the can. If you want, you can place some construction paper inside the can to make it even more attractive.
