What do you think of a christening and baby-shower in one party? Traditionally baby showers were held after the babies were born. So I am thinking of combining both... any thoughts or suggestions?

Keep it separate. You will get more gifts that way. Hahaha!

Nah, really I think it is best to keep it separate. Anyway you don't pay for the baby shower. The friends usually take care of that. So you won't be able to save much on the cost if you hold both events together.

Why not if you prefer it that way? As they say it's your party. And if you already have all the baby stuff you need a shower is not really needed. A christening is more important anyways.

I'll go with keeping it separate just because they're traditionally done that way. But who cares, right? Like somebody above says, it is your party and you can do whatever you want.

(Technically it is your baby's party but what does he know when he's not even 1yo)
