is 99.0 F considered as fever for infants?

kim444 - December 29th, 2010 4:27 AM

anything above 98.5 is considered as a fever.

XeraSmith - December 29th, 2010 4:12 PM

I agree. although kids can have different body temps, 98.5 or 37.5C is considered as fever.

carrie - December 30th, 2010 4:05 AM

i consider fever as anything above 98.5F too.

to Tessa:

is 99F his normal body temp? sometimes it is lower. so it might or might not be a fever depending on his normal body temp.

JAZZmin - December 31st, 2010 3:07 PM

when their temp is at 37.5C then i give them paracetamol. they usually feel quite warm when they are at this temp and it is important to monitor.

yes i would consider it a fever and IMO it is quite high for infants.

desiree - January 2nd, 2011 3:36 AM

if it is higher than her normal temperature then it is a fever. not all infants have the same normal body temp.

99.0F is quite high for fever in infants. you should get your baby checked if this is her temp.
