How young should I have my baby girl's ears get pierced? Is it perfectly safe for my baby?

My baby had her ears pierced at 4 months by her grandmother. I was not a happy camper but I left them in since she already went through the pain . I called the place to find out how she did since I knew nothing of it. They said she did real well. So I decided to give it a shot. And all in all we had no problems. We used sea salt for bout a week and they never turned red got that crust around it etc. That was 3 months ago and things are still good. She still hasn't started tugging away at them.

in some countries ear piercing on a baby girl is considered as the counterpart of circumsition, just for people to distinguish if your bay is a girl or a boy. I would highy recommend to vsit an EENT or your pedia just to mkae sure your baby is not allergic to anything involving ear piercing.
