I'm 7 months pregnant and i notice that i've been experiencing frequent heartburns.. is this normal for pregnant women? or should i get worried?

Yes. One of the reasons for this is eating too much. Pregnant women often use the excuse "eating for two" which causes heart burn and indigestion.

It can also be due to the pressure of the enlarged womb on the stomach causing the contents to flow backwards... small sips of milk may help..

when i read this post i was wondering if you can meds for heart burns are safe for pregnant women.

heartburn is triggered by increasing progesterone levels during pregnancy. to avoid this avoid eating big meals. also, dont eat too fast. avoid foods that trigger heartburn like chocolate, coffee, spicy foods and fatty foods.

Yes, there are heartburn medications that can be taken safely during pregnancy. But in my opinion it would be better to have some peppermint tea if you really need it.
