how can you tell if your baby has lactose intolerance? what are its symptoms?

bethdavis - December 14th, 2010 2:54 AM

babies with lactose intolerance are unable to take in cow's milk. they frequently cry and have smelly poop. their tummy also feels like a drum and they are always passing air.

mi@ - December 15th, 2010 4:27 AM

my nephew who had lactose intolerance had some sort of skin asthma.

Samantha - December 16th, 2010 3:29 AM

lactose intolerance is the allergic reaction to the casein in milk. this is why babies with lactose intolerance are given soy milk instead.

their fart really smells bad! like spoiled milk!

their tummy is always painful so they cry a lot. there is a soy milk substitute for babies with lactose intolerance.

my son is lactose intolerant so he cried a lot and had skin rashes due to being allergic to cow's milk.

so are they able to breastfeed?

carrie - December 26th, 2010 12:51 AM

i dont think they can be breastfed as this has casein too that causes the lactose intolerance.

BEA228 - December 29th, 2010 3:26 AM

i have a lactose intolerant child and I had to stop breast feeding. preparing meals is more challenging but thanks to the internet it is now an easier job to do.
