always be safe, but a professional nanny knows that there are always nanny cam, so that being said your in good hands!
get a nanny that has good references

if you trust the service then i dont think you would need a nanny cam. just make sure you get the right person for the job and interview the nanny carefully and personally. if you feel that the person is right and he or she comes with the right creds then I dont think it would be a problem.

While it is ideal that we look after our own children, practically sometimes we would really need assistance form another care provider. I suggest you make a background check. You can also observe the nanny for a few days and see if your kids are comfortable with her.
Also, you can also check with her agency (if you are getting one from an agency)

if you're not comfy with a professional nanny why not close friends or family members? you can even pay them to babysit.

I agree. My sister now works part time after being laid off. So I ask her to watch my kids but I pay her so that she can earn some money too.
