Here is a tip I have for expecting moms who are feeling the financial pinch of today's bad economy.

Get 2nd-hand baby things!

Yes it is alright as long as you know where to get them. There is nothing to be ashamed of if it's 2nd-hand or a hand-me-down.

(1) Baby Strollers - These don't come cheap. Buying a cheap one is not advisable. You could go to relatives or close friends who've had babies before but don't use their strollers anymore. Offer to buy it from them at a cheaper price. If they're feeling generours, they might just give it to you for free

(2) Crib - Another baby furniture that aren't cheap. You can save a lot of money if you bought it cheap off of your sister or close friends. Perhaps you have officemates who will offer to sell theirs at a cheap price.

(3) Baby Car Seats - Again ask around. I'm pretty sure many will have available for disposal and will gladly sell it to you at a friendly price.

Be sure to clean and sterilize properly before using. Dust and dirt probably has stuck after months or years of being unused.

one thing you can do is whe you have a baby shower you can ask the your friends to share the expenses for a new stroller or a crib. in that way you wont get the same gift from different people. It's not how it's traditionally done. but with this economy is practical.
