I use positive reinforcement to my kids.. every time they complete a chore or when they get good grades they get a treat but if they don't, I don't think "facing the wall" is helpful, but I also don't want to result to corporal punishment! as a parent, how do you address such issue?

you can get into trouble if you use corporal punishment. there are other forms of punishment that you can pair with the positive reinforcement. For instance, if they failed to finish their homework, you can limit the amount of time they spend on TV or limit something that they really really want to do.
