My 4 year old cracks me up because he seriously puts himself to bed. Tonight I went looking for him and he was laying in bed with his lights off and blankets pulled up over him LOL. then he told me night night i love you. I never imagined bedtime would be like this with a 4 year old.

that is a good thing at least sleeping time is not a hassle for you. one funny thing my son does is when he follows and memorize advertisement jingles and even the tag lines. he does it unintentionally, like when he is playing his toys and he hears the advertisement he sings along with it.

my daughter use to mimics me a lot with how i talk, walk, do the things like putting my makeups on and so many things that i get so annoyed at times but most of the time, it's really a charm i can't resist! :))

MamaMyla - October 17th, 2010 9:42 PM

I can relate to that sybil but the problem is mine is a boy and it worries me when he mimics my actions. Children at age 1 to 2 are sponges and we should really be very careful on what to show them.

oh i agree to that mamamyla and it freaks me out when he does those girl like acts that i do. i just don't put a big deal on it because it might make him curious. lol...

that is something we should avoid but i think they would clearly understand want fits their gender if we explain and let them understand things. sometimes depriving or strictly demanding them to not do this or that will have a tendency of making them curious and things might happen that is out of our control.

Yes these are all true.

My son is acting like an adult when it comes to taking care of his younger sister. It is not funny but I find it amusing for his age. He gives instructions like a mature guardian and I do appreciate that because they don't have a father.

That is nice to hear tellMesomething but don't you think it is unfair on his part? He maybe deprive or may miss his childhood because he thinks that it is his responsibility to take his father's part. You should make him feel that he is not oblige to do that and instead enjoy his childhood.

I agree!! I don't have it QUITE as good as you do, but my daughter will go to bed without a routine or story. We just have to tell her to go to bed, and she'll go upstairs, turn on the nightlight, and go to sleep! It's fantastic! Especially after the 2 years of fighting sleep!

Wow! What's your secrets? My 3 year old freaks at bedtime with a good routine..LOL

Cara444 - November 2nd, 2010 1:42 PM

My 4 year old was getting ready for bed yesterday but it wasn't bedtime yet, I asked him if he wanted the light "out" - he said no, can he have the light "IN"?? -- :) Then later he told me he wanted the light "off and out", not "on and in" ... I'm so confused!

My hubby walked into the gas station yesterday and my 3 yr old daughter yelled out the window to him as he was walking away, " Get me a million dollars! " LOL

Today my daughter and I were getting ready to leave, I had given her clothes to put on and I walked into my room to change my clothes, when she walked in behind me I was naked and she said "Mommy, what happened to your clothes?" I said, I don't know they just fell off, she walked around the house yelling "Mommy's pants, Mommy's shirt where are you, come out where ever you are." It was so funny!
