When is the best time to let your pre-schoolers or child use a mobile phone?

Cellphones is very important for communications and for emergencies too.

i think it would be around 10years old or older.

I think an 8 year old can use it. A simple mobile phone for a kid is fine. Just for communication.

there's an advantage and a disadvantage in letting your kid use a mobile phone. An advantage is it's easy to track them down as to there whereabouts, downside is they have the tendency to do too much texting. kids are just so advanced nowadays!

Parents can provide or let their child have a mobile phone; when its necessary. Parents can always limit their usage.

an 8 year old child can use a mobile phone. it does not necessarily giving him or her the full authority to use it whenever he or she likes. you can also set rule that they can own it if they do good in school.

Again, parents needs to make rules about mobile phone usage. Give them mobile phones that is not postpaid or plan.

I'll go with the ages of 8 or 9. Tell him or her it is not a toy and that it is for emergency cases only.
