I have grown up without a mother and now that I have my own family, I'm not really sure if my parenting technique as a mother is correct. I have nothing better to rely on than the books. Is that a good thing? or not? I hope you guys can also share your parenting technique that might be helpful too. I'm afraid that I might raise up my kid in a "rigid" because I do it by the book.

you being worried about how to raise your child is already a good sign that you are a good parent. Just don't let paranoia get the better of you. try to imagine what you would have wanted your mom to do to you when you were younger and apply it to your kid. From there you can check if she gives a positive reaction if not then try something else. It's always a trial and error thing. Books can help guide you on what to do, but it always be up to you. :)

well, i guess being a mom comes natural to us woman. its rather instinct that we have it in us. if you really doubt yourself i would suggest a book, but i never read one. I would say think of what you mom did that was right and apply it to your kids and do the opposite to the things you think is wrong.
