can you tell during infancy if your baby has a disability, example deafness?

try calling his or her name. if he or she does not respond then there's probably something wrong with the hearing.

did you see mr holland's opus? they found out their son was deaf when a firetruck or something blared it's horns and everybody flinched except their baby.

if there is little or no response from audio stimuli then i think there might be deafness.

if your baby is unresponsive even if you talk to him then i think he might be deaf. if you need to touch him to get his attention then there might be a problem with his hearing.

with deafness it is hard to tell immediately. you can usually tell during their toddler years. deaf babies are generally quiet babies.
