When we were at the hospital my little one had to wear a hospital gown so it's not like you could tell if she is a boy or girl from what she was wearing. And one of the nurses called her a boy! I told her she's a girl not a boy and she didn't even say sorry! And just so everyone know's she looks like a girl! Has this ever happened to you?

it's normal because babies usually identified with their physique as cute and not by their gender unless you try to peek with the genitals. i think i won't get mad unless if my kid is around 2 yrs and above. :)

I have a daughter and i swear, every day i go out, i get at least one person somewhere who thinks she is "just the most handsome little boy". mine was born bald so her blonde hair is now the length of a bowl cut so she has a boys hair style right now but i dress her in pink and red a lot, and even dressed in pink onesies and dresses people are still ignorant enough to think she is a boy. it irritates me so much sometimes. i even carry a bright pink diaper bag!!! get used to it, you might get that a lot until she has long hair that you can put in pig tails! because apparently wearing the pink color and wearing dresses and sandals isn't enough to distinguish a boy from a girl!!

It happened to me yesterday and at first, it bothered me, but after I thought about it, I decided it wasn't a big deal. Not all babies can be born looking like a boy or a girl. Everyone says mine looks all-boy but he was wearing a yellow romper to match the little girl we were playing with. Easy mistake to make. Now, if she's in full-on pink with a big ole bow and someone STILL says "he," I wouldn't be mad or upset, but would cock my head at them and be like WTH?! =)

once my son was wearing a onsie with baseballs (all blue) and blue socks and someoen called him a girl...I was like "what person would put this on a girl?" i mean I'm all for gender neutrality at a young age but it was REALLY boyish lol

my poor son used to get mistaken for a girl all the time, and he wore definite boy clothes too. the response i got was "oh he looks too cute to be a boy!" or something else totally rediculous.

but, it's not like you can really tell a lot of the time with babies. so, i just forgive and forget. it's an easy mistake to make.

It's happened to me once or twice, but I witnessed a bad one at our swimming lesson class. The babies were put on the side of the pool and us parents were inside when the guy down the line said to the woman next to me: "Wow, look at that big guy!". The mom was quite peeved about this because it was a girl and the baby wasn't even that big. I'm sure the guy felt like an idiot.
