good day to all! I just want to gather some thoughts from you guys if you happened to experience the same thing that I have experienced (or maybe know someone)... I'm not alcoholic but for the last couple of months I've been to one birthday celebration to another and most of the time we got really wasted. I just found out that I'm 8 weeks pregnant. I've been sober since then.... but I'm scared of the effects! Is it going to cause really serious problems with my baby??? please help!

Hi there liz!
I have a friend who had the same situation as yours. Her menstruation is irregular so she didn't suspect that she was pregnant. She continued drinking alcohol (although it was not daily, but it was a good amount) for 3 months. Fortunately for her, her baby did not display any signs or symptoms of any disability or abnormality. But of course, just to be in the safe side, talk to your doctor. :)

i don't want to scare you or something, but there is a condition called "Fetal Alcohol Syndrome".. usually occurs when a pregnant woman drinks alcohol. It may not be true to all women who drink alcohol while carrying a baby but it's a possibility. These kids are smaller than the normal, they have physical abnormalities and it could also result to low IQ or mental retardation.
