Mother's soothing or odor to be specific would help babies feel more comfortable. Crying babies will easily be at eased once the odor of the mother is smelled. This is a good technique of soothing babies even if the mother is not around. A clothing that is used by the mother can be used to sooth the baby.

that is a nice technique but i don't want to over use such because the baby might be very dependent on it. i have observed from other babies that they have a certain pillow that they can't live without even at school age and it is so hard to let them go of it.

that's true and it is actually like the animal instinct where babies find their way to the mothers. this helps a lot with mothers who are working.

yeah, i kind of agree to that one too. it is something that mothers should probably do to also develop the close-tight bond between mother and child relationship.

i totally agree with this. i mean the baby has this instinct to know whether the scent he is smelling is from the mother herself.

This is a natural way of soothing a baby and it is very effective. I knew about this strategy from my grandmother when I gave birth to my eldest. When I resume working, she reminded me to leave a used blouse with the nanny and such technique was applied while I am working.
