my son being the first grandson, grew up with a lot of exposure to my huband's parents...I feel that he has become a little too spoiled and it's starting to worry me because he starts to talk back already. I'ts making me real sad. Any thoughts on how I could discipline my child in a way that's not offensive?

That could really be a problem. Just keep an open communication with your son. At least try to make him understand about how you feel when he talks back. It is important for him to know that you do not tolerate such actions without directly reprimanding him.
