To Buy or Not to Buy. Most of the kids have the choice of packing lunch or buying one at school. Either one, they can still get healthy food. Chances are, some meals and foods served in the school cafeteria are healthier than others. The typical school lunch is still higher in fat than it should be, according to a recent study. A packed lunch isn't automatically healthier than one you buy at school. So make sure to packed lunch for your kids that has balance nutrition. Avoid giving them large amount of money so that they won't be tempted buying unhealthy food in the cafeteria.

NOT TO BUY. Make and pack their own lunches. I also suggest bring the kids in the groceries and let them pick their choices of food for school. And let them have a day of TO BUY in the cafeteria, the cheat day.

hi iamthestern, i like the idea of a cheat day. buying something they like in the cafeteria for a day won't hurt.

Well said Ton, i agree with you!

lets prepare nutritious foods for our kids! lets not just have them eat JUNK FOODS as we know its not a healthy one. i have once read an article about a kid who's addicted to JUNK FOODS and he got too lousy or shall we say not having a good health cos of preservatives that is served on it. we can just prepare Sandwich or a fresh salad for our kids lunch and i know they would love it. :)

Small children may not eat very much at one sitting. Think about packing appetizers instead of a large sandwich and whole banana. You can also include more choices if the quantity of each is smaller. Fill a mini muffin tin with small amounts of foods, wrap with foil, and pack into the lunch box. i bet he/she will love it!
